Definition of MEDICINE: "The art or science of restoring or preserving health." Definition of HEALTH: "Soundness of body or mind. Vigor and vitality...." Definition of CURE: "A method or course of remedial treatment..."
Using these definitions Therapeutic Massage most definitely qualifies as "serious medicine." I offer massage as part of a "process" of individual self-care. No "body" remains the same from moment to moment. Change is continuous. Massage helps you "go with the flow" with more comfort and greater ease.
Consider studies of primates and infants who perished due to lack of human touch. Does this need diminish over time or do we actually just get used to feeling poorly?!! Why do we often hear people say things like "he lost touch with his humanity.?" Perhaps it's because we really do sense that all sentient creatures need touch to be healthy. It certainly is worth considering, don't you think? What do YOU think? Is massage medicine or philosophy?
Now Available! Luxurious Natural Hot Basalt Stone Therapy or Cold Stone Marble Treatments!
Natural Basalt Hot Stone Therapy to intensify relaxation response.
Or pure smooth Cold Marble application to stimulate circulation and reduce inflammation.
Both incorporated into a 90 minute massage session!
Little Shoppe Of Restoration's owner/therapist is delighted to offer, as an integral part of your therapeutic massage, the ancient restorative treatment of HOT or COLD STONE application at your request. Beautiful and carefully polished natural basalt stones have been respectfully "harvested" and prepared for this purpose by Native Americans from our southwestern states. The stones are heated in hot water and applied to your oiled body in long, quick glides. The stones are then left to gently warm your body as your therapist continues your massage. The weight and heat (or coolness) of the stones increases your relaxation and healing response through temperature and weight. You will leave with your feet barely touching the ground!
It's Mutual Hospitality!

Little Shoppe appreciates your interest in in-home massage therapy sessions.
In-home sessions for NEW clients are available by referral only. You must be referred by a health professional or a known client.
If you do not have a referral please call to arrange an in-office consultation to complete a brief information and health history form prior to scheduling your first in-home visit. Thank you.
Those wishing to GIFT a loved-one with a wonderful in-home massage or arrange a special event at home should call for a brief consultation. Remember: "Home is not always the most relaxing place to be!"
Little Shoppe provides the best in relaxation and muscle strain/tension release massage therapy but does not provide therapy for the seriously ill or those in need of rehabilitation or end-of-life care. For such cases please contact area nursing or hospice organizations.
Mutual Hospitality Means Your Therapist:
Is a licensed professional who strives to provide you with the best in therapeutic massage. She will arrive on time with all needed supplies and leave as quickly and as quietly as possible after your session. Has your comfort and modesty in mind always. Will need instruction as to where to set up and wash up.
Your therapist requests:
A GROUND FLOOR room for your session...unless a strong person is available to carry the massage table to an upper or lower floor. (This applies to condominium complexes as well. Thank you.)
Please allow your therapist approximately15 minutes to set up & cover the massage table & organize supplies.
Two or Three standard or larger bed pillows with pillow cases you don't mind getting a bit of massage oil on. These are used to support your knees or arms during your session.
A light but sturdy kitchen or folding chair for the therapist.
Preparation of the atmosphere in the room. Do you like bright lights, jazz & the stimulation of an exercise room? Or what about tea light candles, incense and the the sound of a zen fountain? The atmosphere is up to you to prepare prior to your therapist's arrival.
